Buyer replaces Phil Penman
Entertainment retailer HMV has appointed Gary Rolfe as head of music, following Phil Penman's resignation in February.
Rolfe joined HMV in 1990, working as jazz controller in the Oxford Street branch. Since moving to head office in 1996, Rolfe has worked as speciality product buyer, classical & specialities manager and rock & pop manager.
HMV UK and Ireland product director Simon Peck said: 'Gary has a tremendous wealth of experience covering all music genres across buying roles. HMV is well placed to maximise the major opportunities that will be presented on music this year and with Gary driving the department forward, I am sure that he will make an immediate contribution in helping to realise these.'
