Active Retail Fund, a vehicle for private investors to take a stake in shopping centres and other types of retail property, has made its second acquisition.
Advised by property law specialist Forsters, the fund has acquired Newmarket's Rookery Shopping Centre in Suffolk from Prime Commercial Properties for£17 million. The 133,000 sq ft (12,355 sq m) scheme has 60 units.
The acquisition was made via the Active Retail Rookery Fund, which is a joint venture between the Active Retail Fund and Ethel Austin Properties.
The Active Retail Fund's first purchase was last September, when it bought the Priory Centre at Worksop in Nottinghamshire for£11.5 million.
The sale is in line with Prime Commercial Properties' focus on larger shopping centres.
