Retail Week property editor Graham Parker is joining the judging panel for the BCSC's 2005 Purple Apple Marketing Awards.
The nine-strong panel, chaired by British Land Shopping Centre Portfolio marketing director Kate Mason, includes Boots regional estates manager James Goodliffe, Ian Fisher - general manager of The Mall in Barnsley - and Sara O'Rorke, a partner at retail branding specialists Klein O'Rorke.
The awards, endorsed by the Marketing Society and due to be presented at the Marriott Grosvenor Square Hotel in London next February, include strategic marketing, public and media relations, single-event marketing, community relations and customer care categories.
Cribbs Causeway marketing director Sue Boor, who heads the Purple Apple Awards organising committee, said: 'The Purple Apples stand as the industry accolade for those involved in marketing and publicising shopping centres and other retail destinations.'
Retail schemes, as well as their advertising, marketing, public relations and managing agencies, are being encouraged to enter the awards, which are open to shopping centres, towns and other retail destinations.
'There is a growing recognition of the real benefit of good marketing seen through additional footfall and consumer spend,' said Boor. 'These awards reward industry best practice and help us all set new and better standards.'
Deadline for entries for the 2005 Purple Apple Marketing Awards is Friday December 3.
