Grocer names c-store chief and two non-execs
Sainsbury’s has named Richard Lancaster, trading director of Jacksons Stores, as trading and marketing director for its convenience division. He will now be responsible for Jacksons, Bells, Sainsbury’s Local and Beaumonts.
The grocer has also appointed two non-executive directors. Cadbury Schweppes chief human resources officer Bob Stack will chair the remuneration committee, while Emap group finance director Gary Hughes will join the audit committee to become chairman by the end of next year. They both join the board on January 1.
Sainsbury’s chairman Philip Hampton said: ‘Bob and Gary are both very highly regarded in their respective professional fields and have valuable experience in consumer-facing industries. They have a breadth of skills that will complement those of the existing team.’
