Sales rise in past six months
Sofa specialist ScS Upholstery has disclosed that sales are up on last year, with overall like-for-like sales rising 1 per cent for the six months to March 31.
When the effect of Easter falling within the comparable period last year was excluded, the like-for-like rise was 3 per cent.
The retailer has opened 13 stores so far this financial year, with the 14th due to open in Newcastle upon Tyne later this week, giving a total of 80 outlets. ScS said it remains on track to bring this total to 84 by the end of the financial year.
The group will issue full interim results on May 16.
