Indian fashion etailer Koovs has reported a leap in sales following the launch of a five-week multichannel marketing campaign.
Koovs, which last year appointed former Asos director Mary Turner as its boss, said sales in the 14 weeks to January 3 jumped 210% to INR295.6m (£2.96m).
The etailer, which sells own-label clothes and 150 international fashion brands, revealed a near-doubling in visits to its website after it launched a five-week multichannel marketing campaign in November.
However last month Koovs reported a widening of its half-year pre-tax losses to INR 570.6m (£5.7m).
Chairman Waheed Alli said today: “The business continues to achieve spectacular growth, accelerated by the initiatives put in place by Mary during her first 90 days.”
Koovs, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange, also said it is in the final stages of agreeing another fundraising stage of about £4m.
Turner told Retail Week the funds will be spent on more marketing and growing its scale.
She admitted the business is unlikely to turn a profit until 2019. “A period of growth will lead to profitability,” she said.
