Outdoor specialist Go Outdoors has notched up a record year, with sales soaring 57%.
The retailer has revealed revenue of £114.9m in the year to January 30, boosted by the opening of nine new stores.
Like-for-likes grew 10.6% in the year, while online sale soared 45%.
Over Christmas the retailer said “even the coldest December in 100 years didn’t affect spending”, as like-for-likes in the five weeks ending December 24 were up 20.2%.
The 27-store retailer is planning a further 10 superstores this year, with three confirmed for Manchester, Stoke and York. It aims to have 50 by 2012.
Go Outdoors chief executive John Graham said: “We are bucking the trend in retail and are continuing to grow both in terms of sales and number of stores.
“Our strength lies in the fact we are able to cater for all levels of outdoor enthusiasts across a number of outdoor activities. We offer the most comprehensive range of branded products as well as our own-labels so we are able to give a variety of choice for all budgets.”
