Tesco has joined forces with Dixons Carphone to test Currys PC World concessions in some of its largest supermarkets.
Dixons Carphone will open the outlets this summer, the first in Tesco’s Milton Keynes Extra store in July and the second at the Weston Favell Extra store in August.
The concessions will stock a tailored range of Currys PC World products – including televisions, computers, white goods and accessories.
Dixons Carphone’s laptop repair, advice and comparison services will also be available.
Tesco’s UK boss Matt Davies said: “We’re always looking at ways to offer our customers the best possible range of services in our stores.
“We think this is a winning combination for customers.”
Dixons Carphone UK and Ireland chief executive Katie Bickerstaffe said: “Customers tell us they want to pick up the latest electrical products conveniently and at competitive prices, with expert advice and from someone they trust to keep them working seamlessly.
“This trial gives them all of this during a weekly grocery shop, which we hope they will enjoy.”
The two retail giants will test the first two shop-in-shops for a year before making a decision on a further roll-out.
