The Body Shop has snapped up Charles Tyrwhitt’s chief executive David Boynton to take the helm of its global business.
Boynton will join the ethical beauty retailer in December after just 11 months at the helm of Charles Tyrwhitt.
He will be tasked with overseeing its global operations and strategy in the wake of new owner Natura Group unveiling ambitious plans to double The Body’s Shop’s EBITDA by 2022.
Boynton succeeds Jeremy Schwartz, who departed The Body Shop shortly after it was acquired by Natura Group, and will report to the Brazilian cosmetics company’s executive chairman Roberto Marques.
Marques said: “We are excited to welcome David Boynton to Natura Group.
“His global, retail and value-driven expertise together with his passion for talent will be a great fit into our group.”
Prior to joining Charles Tyrwhitt, Boynton held senior roles at beauty retail stalwarts including Superdrug parent company AS Watson and L’Occitane, where he culminated as managing director for North Atlantic, Australia and South Africa.
“I am delighted to be joining The Body Shop at this exciting time as it becomes part of the Natura family,” said Boynton.
“I have admired both companies from afar for years and it is truly a great match, bringing together two values-driven beauty businesses with a passion for the preservation of the natural world and respect for people and communities.
“With Natura, The Body Shop couldn’t be in safer hands.”
