Home shopping group Shop Direct has brought in Neil Chandler in a newly created role of chief executive of its financial services arm.
Chandler will join the business by December and report to existing chairman of Shop Direct Group’s financial services and group finance director Steve Makin.
Makin said the appointment would help the home shopping group to further develop its financial services offer.
Chandler was previously chief executive of Sainsbury’s Bank for 18 months and has also held roles at HBOS/Lloyd’s Banking Group and Sun Alliance.
He said he was excited to be joining the group which runs brands including Littlewoods, Woolworths and Kays.
“A lot has been achieved over the past three years and there is now a real opportunity to capitalise on Shop Direct financial services’ position as the leader in the sector. I look forward to this challenge,” said Chandler.
