Somerfield rejigs its team

Somerfield has rejigged its management team, with the appointment of Katie Bickerstaffe as group retail director. She will be responsible for Kwik Save retail operations as well as her existing role as Somerfield director of stores and retail services.

Bickerstaffe will fill the shoes of group buying and marketing director and Kwik Save managing director Robin Whitbread, who has resigned.

The board is to appoint a new buying director in the near future. Meanwhile, group finance director David Cheyne will take over group buying. Somerfield chief executive Steve Back is to oversee marketing.
