Castore plans to open more than 20 stores this year

Peter Alecock will join following a stint as the chief executive of British fashion and homeware brand Joe Browns from June 2022 until February 2024.

He previously held senior positions at JD Sports and worked at the sporting giant for 16 years. His roles included chief operating officer and commercial director for fashion.

Alecock’s role at Castore will involve leading the brand’s channel performance in retail, wholesale and ecommerce as well as its mainline divisions.

The news follows a £145m investment secured by the sportswear brand last year, which it said would help it continue to “disrupt the premium sportswear market and global team sports landscape”.

Castore is also carrying out a store rollout as it said in February, following the opening of its Dublin flagship, that it aims to open a total of 24 across the UK and Ireland in 2024.
