Exclusive: Digital sports platform and licensed sports merchandise retailer Fanatics is set to open its first standalone store in the UK on Regent Street, London.
Fanatics, which sells licensed sports apparel and merchandise for sports including football, NFL and Formula 1, is set to open its first store in the capital.
This will be the first standalone store for the company, which runs shops in stadiums and sports venues on behalf of partner clubs and teams.
Retail Week understands the timing of the store opening remains unclear.
Fanatics, which has a database of over 100 million global sports fans, first entered the UK in 2016 when it acquired its competitor Kitbag to grow its presence internationally.
The company has rapidly expanded its international business over the years and now has more than 80 offices, manufacturing facilities and fulfillment centres worldwide and partners with more than 900 of the largest sporting organisations in the world.
These include Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan, Inter, Atletico Madrid, UEFA, the International Olympic Committee, Tokyo Giants, the English FA, NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB and Formula 1.
In August, Fanatics announced that it had renewed and expanded its partnership with the FA in a deal that will see it retain ecommerce rights, run the official online England store, as well as power on-site retail during England home games, domestic cup finals and concerts at Wembley Stadium.
The retailer, which first teamed up with the FA in 2018, said Euro 2024 was a record-breaking tournament for England merchandise sales and the team’s 2024 kit launch “shattered site records on launch day”.
Fanatics declined to comment on the new store.
