Four employees have decided to part company with the department store after a restructuring programme that saw the team leader roles replaced with departmental manager positions. A further three have yet to decide on their future at the store.
Selfridges spokeswoman Christine Watts said: 'The changes have affected 17 team leaders and product specialists. All were asked to go through an assessment process for these new roles. But nobody had to be reinterviewed and it is not about job cuts.'
She added that it was Selfridges' 'strongly-held wish that all 17 stay'.
Of the 17, five were promoted immediately and one is undergoing training before taking up a new position. A further four have moved into new roles, but will remain on the same salary.
Those leaving will be discussing packages with the company next week.
The Oxford Street food hall employs about 200 staff.
