Office supplies retailer Staples has opened its first city centre store on Deansgate in Manchester.
The 3,205 sq ft Staples store will create 20 jobs.
Staples general store manager Steve Moss said the store is modelled on a New York express concept and features a range of the services provided by out-of-town outlets including office supplies, paper, technology, ink, a DHL delivery service and a dedicated copy and print centre.
Moss said: “Manchester was chosen because of its thriving business community and Deansgate offers a diverse mix of business and consumer footfall. This, coupled with the city’s buoyant retail and business offer – particularly the emerging Spinningfields business district – means it makes strategic sense for us.”
Staples operates more than 134 office superstores in the UK and also provides a mail-order catalogue, e-commerce and contract businesses.
