US lifestyle retailer Anthropologie has opened its second store in the UK on the site of a former Temperance Billiards Hall on London’s King’s Road.

The 8,000 sq ft store, which opened on Wednesday, has features including a water garden, freestanding arches, glass roofing and treated concrete that looks like wooden floors.

European chief executive James Bidwell said much of the work on the store, which was also previously the site of an antiques market, has involved heavy architectural restoration as the building is listed.

Anthropologie launches its ecommerce site for Europe today.
