Boxpark and property developer Quintain have partnered to open a ‘pop-up mall’ in Wembley in late 2018.
It will be the third Boxpark mall to open, after the original in Shoreditch and last year’s opening in Croydon.
The dining and event destination will be located at the 85-acre Wembley Park site, which is being regenerated by Quintain as the UK’s largest build-to-rent development.
It will include up to 29 independent and food and beverage traders in a space covering 4,000 sq m on Olympic Way, which is more commonly known among football fans as Wembley Way.
The space will provide a year-round events destination, creating and hosting a programme of events for up to 2,000 people at a time.
Speaking about the 10-year joint venture, Quintain chief executive Angus Dodd said: “Wembley Park is an exciting place to rent and live in London, now coming alive with experiences and opportunities.
“Boxpark Wembley will open up Wembley to a whole new audience as well as create a new destination for stadium and arena event days.”
Once complete, Wembley Park will have 5,000 rental homes available and will also provide a ‘fan village’ experience for visitors to the Wembley national stadium and The SSE Arena.
Boxpark founder and chief executive Roger Wade said: “Boxpark Wembley is located in an iconic location, on Olympic Way in Wembley Park.
“We hope to work closely with Quintain, Brent Council and other venue operators on the site to develop a world-class food, drink and entertainment destination, and possibly the best fan park in the world.”
