Fat Face will take a 6,250 sq ft unit on a 10-year lease as part of a £35m extension and redevelopment of the site, Retail Week can reveal. As well as being its first store on a retail park, it will also be Fat Face’s largest out-of-town store.
Head of property at Fat Face, Tim Moody, said: “This is a great opportunity for Fat Face. We’re delighted to bring our latest shop fit and full range of clothing and accessories to Elliott’s Field in Rugby.”
The retailer will be joined by fellow fashion chain River Island, which will also take a 6,250 sq ft unit on a 10-year lease. It will be River Island’s first store in Rugby.
Elliott’s Field, owned by property landlord Hammerson, is due to open later this year. The 180,000 sq ft retail and dining destination has already secured a 60,000 sq ft Debenhams and a 50,000 sq ft Marks & Spencer general merchandise store to anchor the scheme.
TK Maxx, Next, Clarks and Outfit are among the other retailers that have signed up to Elliott’s Field, with Nando’s and Ed’s Easy Diner spearheading its restaurant offer.
Hammerson development manager Tom Cochrane said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming leading fashion retailers Fat Face and River Island to Elliott’s Field.
“Their arrival supports our vision of creating a retail destination that puts Rugby back on the map and enables the local residents, and those in the wider area, to enjoy a new and exciting shopping experience that offers a varied mix of shops and restaurants.”
