Fopp, a specialist retailer owned by HMV, is opening a new store in Nottingham, creating six jobs in the local area.
The opening on Nottingham’s Bridlesmith Gate will be the sixth Fopp store in the UK, adding to a portfolio that includes Manchester, Edinburgh, Cambridge, Glasgow and London.
The store will offer more than 18,000 products, including more than 4,000 different vinyl albums, 2,700 Blu-ray and 4k titles, limited-edition vinyls and more than 8,000 CDs.
Shoppers will also be able to browse more than 500 books in a two-for-£7 offer, as well as a wide range of turntables and headphones.
The new store will open on June 7, with in-store signings and performances to be announced throughout the year.
Customers can also use the Fopp Delivers service, which allows them to order any items not in store to be delivered to their homes.
All shoppers making a purchase will also be entered into a special lucky dip on opening day.
Fopp and HMV managing director Phil Halliday said: “As a business, Fopp has an extremely loyal, knowledgeable customer base, as well as staff who are deeply passionate about the worlds of music, film, literature and TV.
“We’re delighted to be bringing our offering to Nottingham, where we can cater to an even wider range of eclectic and specialist tastes.”
HMV and Fopp regional manager Chris Taylor added: “We’re over the moon to be bringing Fopp to the city of Nottingham, offering a huge selection of specialist music, film, TV and books that cater to all tastes.
“We can’t wait to open our doors and greet our customers with some brilliant offers.”
