Selfridges head of store design and development Martin Illingworth is leaving the department store group to join London rival Harrods.
He will begin work at the famous Knightsbridge store in July, where he will assume the position of director of store development.
News of Illingworth’s departure comes only a week after Selfridges announced that its head of creative direction, Susanne Tide-Frater, would also be moving to the west London emporium.
Illingworth joined Selfridges in 1997. He led the team at the retailer that delivered the two new stores in Manchester, the redevelopment of the Oxford Street store and the landmark store that opened at Birmingham’s Bullring last September.
