The frenetic pace of retail arrivals and departures shows no sign of slowing down this week.
Today, John Lewis revealed that Laura Wade-Gery, who left her role as M&S’ multichannel director of UK retail and online operations last September, will take up a non-executive position with the Partnership.
And, as revealed by Retail Week, Ted Baker global retail director Chris Browne has exited the retailer after helping to build the business for the past 29 years.
The moves come on the tail of Notonthehighstreet’s Simon Belsham, New Look’s Anders Kristiansen and Dunelm’s John Browett all exiting their businesses in the past fortnight.
All this upheaval is reflective of the turbulent retail market, which is not expected to quiet down anytime soon. As such, the arrivals and departures may well be set to continue.
Also today, Natura has completed its acquisition of The Body Shop, Eve Sleep has penned a German partnership with Karstadt, and Lipsy is to shut down its website and drive sales through Next.
