More than 14 million shoppers flocked to Westfield’s London malls over the crucial Christmas and Black Friday period.
The shopping centre owner and operator said customer numbers at Westfield London and Westfield Stratford increased 1% year on year to 14.1 million.
Westfield said it enjoyed three “peak trading periods” at the back end of 2017, starting on Black Friday.
More than 850,000 shoppers visited the capital’s two centres across the three-day promotional weekend.
The last weekend before Christmas attracted more than 800,000 consumers, while the Boxing Day sales attracted a further 320,000 bargain-hunters.
Westfield lauded the impact of its focus on “experience” in driving shoppers into its malls.
In particular, it highlighted the popularity of pop-up fashion boutique Style Trial, a “hyper reality” Star Wars attraction, its Ferrero Rocher tasting experience, the Chill Lounge ice bar and a Christmas grotto for children.
