Wilko and The Range will close all of their 200-plus stores on Boxing Day to give its staff a “well-earned break” over the festive period.
Many of its stores will be open for extended hours to help customers with Christmas shopping ahead of December 25. The group said customers should check local stores to find out their opening hours.
CDS Superstores, which operates The Range and Wilko, recently brought Wilko back to the UK high streets with its first openings in Plymouth and Exeter last week.
It also relaunched Wilko.com, which offers over 50,000 products for delivery.
The Range has grown its portfolio to 215 stores in the UK.
CDS Superstores chief executive Alex Simpkin said: “It’s been an incredible year and I can’t thank all our hard-working team members enough. We believe everyone deserves a well-earned break over the festive season, so we’ve decided to close for the two-day break. No exceptions.
“We’ve another exciting year ahead. We’ll be further strengthening The Range brand and continuing our ambitious rollout of Wilko stores across the UK and want to make sure everyone gets a chance to enjoy time with friends and family.
