Gamestation is to move to the same EPoS platform as its sister fascia Game as part of the integration of the two businesses’ operating and distribution platforms.
Seven Gamestation stores are presently live with the system and a 50-store a week roll-out will begin imminently, which should see the whole chain converted by the end of August.
The integration will mean Game Group – which posted a trading update last week – will begin to supply Gamestation stores from the same warehouse that supports its Game chain. The introduction of the Torex EPoS system will also allow Gamestation to offer gift cards, simplify promotions and give it the option to launch a loyalty scheme.
As part of the same integration project, Gamestation has also deployed the ARC business intelligence system from Manthan, which was already in use at Game. Game Group planning and business development director Mark Axon said: “We have taken learnings from Gamestation and moved towards a more automated reporting suite.”
Once the new EPoS system is live the group will begin to use ARC to produce combined management information reports. Axon added that Game’s operations team has been using ARC for about 12 months to assess and disseminate sales data.
