Fitnesswear retailer Gymshark is on the hunt for exciting start-ups to join a newly launched innovation programme.
The retailer has teamed up with innovation specialist L Marks to create the Gymshark Innovation Lab, designed to identify and nurture innovators’ solutions that “bring real value to Gymshark and our community”.
The programme is designed to “unearth transformative solutions that enhance product performance and sustainability, optimise supply chain management and unlock pioneering innovations in robotics”.
For start-ups, participation in the scheme is expected to bring the chance of accelerated growth through working with Gymshark.
L Marks will search for suitable start-ups for the 10-week programme, during which participants will also be mentored by industry leaders.
Solutions are being sought in two specific areas – “from supply chain to squat rack,” “faster, and heavy-lifting time-saving robotics”. Gymshark is also keen to encourage ideas that “surprise us”.
Gymshark chief product and supply chain officer Laurent Madelaine said: “We’re constantly striving to get the best possible product into the hands of a community obsessed with the gym. We also know there are so many start-ups and innovators out there with the same passion. The launch of the Gymshark Innovation Lab will hopefully open doors to them to help showcase their incredible ideas.”
L Marks chief executive Daniel Saunders said: “This partnership opens up significant opportunities for start-ups and scaleups to trial and implement their solutions. The areas of focus selected will bring a great range of companies. We’re excited to see the impactful results that will come from this collaboration.”
