Fashion retailer River Island has signed a deal to roll out new software in a bid to improve its merchandise planning and boost sales.
It will bring together planning systems that are currently separate, improving the picture it has of merchandise across the whole company.
River Island wants to improve merchandise planning across different channels, including web, franchise and wholesale sales channels.
The retailer is working with supplier Oracle to consolidate its planning systems for these different channels, improving accuracy with the aim of increasing the amount of stock it sells at full price.
River Island chief information officer Doug Gardner said: “Global and omnichannel expansion is a key strategic focus and to do this successfully, Oracle will help us optimize our planning practices to support this growth while continuing to provide our customers with their must-have items, wherever and whenever they shop with us.”
River Island has over 300 stores across the UK and internationally throughout Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
