Sainsbury’s has extended its contract with logistics provider iForce.
The move means iForce will continue to deliver all of the grocer’s online fulfillment of general merchandise and process all returns for non-food.
The two year contract extension runs until April 2014.
Sainsbury’s and iForce combined online fulfillment and returns processing at its site in Corby in September 2009. This has helped it roll out click and collect to more than 900 shops.
Earlier this month, Sainsbury’s chief executive Justin King said that click and collect played an important role over Christmas. The grocer said 60% of its general merchandise orders were collected in stores in its third quarter.
