TokyWoky has been named the winner of Retail Week Live 2019’s Launchpad competition.
The start-up provides a peer-to-peer advice platform that allows customers to become advisers around products.
TokyWoky has built what judges described as “a gamification engine” around the idea, rewarding customers for “being helpful” by providing information and advice to fellow consumers.
TokyWoky held off stiff competition from Sensei and Increasingly, which came second and third in the competition respectively.
Launchpad showcases some of the industry’s best start-ups, which are potential partners to retailers, in a Dragons’ Den-style pitching format.
Revealing this year’s winner, Omnifi managing director Simon Liss said TokyWoky “gave a really assured presentation about a service and a tool that appealed not only to users, but also to retailers”.
