Pre-tax profits at fashion retailer Ted Baker rose 10 per cent in the year to January 26.
Sales at Ted Baker’s retail division were up 15.5 per cent for the period, with group revenue reaching£142.2 million.
Ted Baker founder and chief executive Ray Kelvin said: “I am delighted to report yet another year of success for Ted Baker, as we continue the careful international expansion of the brand. We believe that the strength of our brand and our robust business model mean we are well-placed to navigate the uncertain economic outlook.”
The start of the new financial year has also been strong, with sales up 16.1 per cent in the first seven weeks. Ted Baker has committed to opening seven shops this year, including stores at White City and Heathrow’s Terminal 5.
However, the wholesale arm of Ted Baker has suffered, with sales down 21.6 per cent in the seven weeks to March 14, owing partly to the phasing of deliveries.
