Tesco Metro to open at Woking

British Land has struck a deal with Tesco to open a 14,000 sq ft (1,300 sq m) Tesco Metro store at The Peacocks Centre at Woking, Surrey.

Planning permission is in place for the development of the store, which will front onto Woking's Town Mall.

British Land director Merrick Marshall said: 'Tesco will significantly enhance the retail offer at The Peacocks Centre.'

Work will begin soon, and the store is expected to open in spring next year.

The centre has more than 80 units, across four levels. The main tenants include Next, Marks & Spencer and Allders.
