Tesco is on the hunt for a UK commercial director as it seeks to turnaround its domestic business.
Headhunter Zygos has been hired to find a director who will sit on Tesco’s UK board, according to The Independent.
Tesco UK chief executive Richard Brasher departed the business in March. In January the grocer issued a profit warning, its first in 20 years.
The UK responsibilities are currently split among three commercial directors: Nigel Jones who leads non-food; John Scouler who heads up household goods and packaged food; and Andrew Yaxley in fresh food.
The retailer is to hold its AGM on Friday. Despite the weak UK performance the event is not expected to be a stormy as Tesco chief executive Phil Clarke rejected his annual bonus of £372,000 as he was not satisfied with the domestic profits slowdown.
