The Dune Group, the footwear business which comprises the Dune chain and the former Shoe Studio labels, including Pied a Terre and Bertie, has appointed a new international director, to oversee its international expansion plans.
Mohamediqbal Yacoobali, who previously worked as general manager for the Landmark Group operating over 90 Shoe Mart stores and managing franchises for companies such as Kurt Geiger across the Middle East, starts his new role with the Dune Group today (May 9).
According to the Dune Group, Yacoobali joins the company at a key stage in the expansion and development of the core brands into new territories, most recently with the opening of two new stores in Russia.
The group opened its fourth store in Russia in the newly built Galleria Mall in St Petersburg recently and followed this with its fifth store in Russia on April 29 in the Mega Mall in Kazan, 500 miles east of Moscow.
Dune Group chief executive John Egan said: “We are delighted to welcome back Mohamediqbal Yacoobali to Dune, his appointment confirms our ambitious international growth plans to build Dune into a major global brand.”
