The Entertainer has opened its first shop overseas in Dubai as it kicks-off its 45-store opening programme in the region.
The store, which is located in the Al Ghurair centre in Deira, opened its doors on Wednesday. The launch was attended by Edward Hobart, Britain’s Consul General to Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
The Entertainer founder and managing director Gary Grant said: “2013 has been an important year for The Entertainer, not only have we opened 14 new stores in the UK, we have expanded the brand internationally. I am thrilled to be in Dubai.”
Hobart added: “I’m delighted to see Dubai becoming home to an increasing number of premium British Brands.
“As a customer of The Entertainer in the UK - on behalf of my children – I am really pleased that The Entertainer are coming here as their first venture outside the UK which underlines the confidence British businesses have in this dynamic city.”
In September The Entertainer signed an agreement with franchisee Al Owais Enterprises to open 45 stores over the next five years in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
