Fragrance retailer The Perfume Shop has promoted Jo Walker to chief operating officer.
Walker, who has been with the business – owned by AS Watson – since 1992, was formerly the company’s trading director.
Walker’s appointment is the second senior management change at The Perfume Shop in recent weeks, following the promotion of managing director Jeremy Seigal to the role of chief executive of AS Watson UK (RW Online, April 7).
Seigal will head the UK arm of Hong Kong-based parent company AS Watson, which comprises high street giant Superdrug, The Perfume Shop and health and beauty discount chain Savers.
Seigal has replaced Euan Sutherland at Superdrug, with Sutherland taking the role of head of UK operations at Kingfisher.
Jo Walker started at The Perfume Shop as a store manager and was promoted to area manager the following year. Since then, she has worked as operations manager and operations controller, before being made retail operations director and trading director in 2006, when the business was bought by retail group AS Watson.
