The retailer – whose star clients include Sir Elton John, Victoria Beckham and Elizabeth Hurley – will open between 15 and 20 standalone stores and concessions in the UK and overseas.
The plans follow the appointment of chief executive Pamela Harper at the end of last year, who was drafted in to drive the retailer’s expansion.
Harper told Retail Week that Theo Fennell, which has five outlets in the UK and three overseas, will open a concession at Brown Thomas, as part of the Irish department store’s launch of a fine jewellery room.
Theo Fennell is also in discussions to open a standalone store on London’s Bond Street and is scouting for another UK location. In autumn, the retailer will unveil a new store fit in its signature colours of pink and black.
As part of its partnership with Middle Eastern distributor Al Tayer, the retailer plans to open up to eight concessions in the region over the next 18 months.
It is also poised to open a Theo Fennell-branded standalone store in Moscow with partner Cosmos-Zoloto. Theo Fennell already operates concessions in Dubai, Bahrain and Russia.
Harper added that the retailer is in discussions with potential partners for joint ventures or franchises in Japan and more widely across Asia. She said: “There is a geographic spread that we have to have to create a brand presence globally.”
She said that Theo Fennell, which announced a 13 per cent year-on-year increase in sales in April, had continued to trade well despite the downturn.
“Like every brand, we are competing for the consumer’s spend,” she said.
