Confectionary retailer Thorntons’s like-for-likes rose 3.6 per cent for the 10 weeks to June 28, 2008.
Full-year sales climbed 11.9 per cent to£208.1 million. Total company sales rose to£28.6 million in the quarter, up 7.9 per cent on an underlying basis.
Own-store sales rose 8.2 per cent to£18.7 million in the final quarter and were up 4.6 per cent for the full-year, to£135.1 million.
Franchise sales climbed 6 per cent to£1.7 million in the final quarter and were up 14.5 per cent to£14.9 million for the year.
Sales at Thorntons Direct jumped 44.3 per cent to£1.2 million in the quarter. Full-year growth at the Direct business was 26.6 per cent.
