Discounter TK Maxx has drafted in Nigel Blow, deputy merchandise director at Harrods, to head its menswear division.
Blow takes the role of menswear buying director, replacing Andrew Tye, who has moved to womenswear as divisional merchandising manager.
Blow is the latest in a series of high-profile departures from Harrods. It is likely he was offered a lucrative deal at TK Maxx.
Industry sources say the discount chain, which recruits some of the best-connected buyers to find its designer-scoops, pays 30 per cent higher than average.
TK Maxx's second-quarter sales in the UK and Ireland increased 1 per cent compared with last year in local currency.
