Discount designer fashion retailer TK Maxx has signed for its first three sites to launch its Canadian HomeSense fascia in the UK.

TK Maxx will open HomeSense stores at St Oswalds Retail Park in Gloucester, Commerce Centre Retail Park in Poole and Lifestyle Retail Park in Cardiff before the end of May. The stores will have trading space of between 15,000 and 20,000 sq ft (1,395 and 1,860 sq m).

TK Maxx confirmed it was bringing its HomeSense fascia to the UK last November, as exclusively revealed by Retail Week. It is still searching for two further locations to test the HomeSense format.

In Canada, HomeSense stocks a selection of designer merchandise, with discounts of up to 60 per cent. Products include soft furnishings, lighting, crockery and furniture.

TK Maxx will also open a further five stores in Germany this year. It opened its first five there – its first stores in mainland Europe – in autumn.

In the UK, TK Maxx will roll out jewellery to some of its new stores following a trial last May.
