Sir Philip Green’s men’s fashion chain Topman this week launched a music platform to showcase emerging and growing talents.
The platform, called Topman CTRL, will allow new acts to showcase their music preferences and recommend live bands each month. The initiative will be promoted through the retailer’s website and social networking site Myspace.
Topman marketing director Jason Griffiths said: “Topman CTRL is a unique new music series that reinforces our strategy of supporting young talent, both in fashion and music. After many years of successful music sponsorships, we feel that the time is right to launch our own platform.”
Topman said the platform is a move on from its sponsorship of music events and is not a new revenue stream.
