Topps Tiles believes it could grow into a 400-store-strong business and expand into Ireland.
The ceramics specialist has previously stated that 350 stores is its target, but chief executive Nick Ounstead thinks there is scope to go past that number.
Ounstead said: 'The market is still way, way underdeveloped. The thoughts are we could do a few more (stores). We haven't got any in Ireland and one day the likelihood is that we will have stores there.'
At present, the retailer is concentrating on growing in England and Scotland.
Topps Tiles has 213 shops, 34 of which trade under the discount Tile Clearing House fascia.
