Retail software supplier Torex is to transfer its hardware maintenance business to partner Phoenix IT Services from February next year.
The deal will also see Torex’s warehousing and logistics operation transferred to the IT services firm.
However, Torex says that it will continue to manage all of its customer relationships itself. Retail customers include DSGi, Mothercare and Thorntons.
Torex says that it has moved its maintenance operation to a partner to allow it to meet the changing service expectations of its retail, hospitality and convenience customers.
Torex chief executive Steve Rowley said: “The partnership will add additional field service excellence into our customer relationships coupled with enhanced commercial support for hardware and the provision of new services that can be presented to our customers.”
