Discount designerwear retailer Proibito, formerly owned by Prohibition London, has gone into administration after unprofitable trading at many of its stores.
Former Proibito managing director Marino Roberto has bought 10 of the 19 stores, from administrator Begbies Traynor. Those shops are now owned by Prohibition (UK) Ltd.
The remaining nine stores, including two in Oxford Street, and one at Bluewater, have closed.
For the year to July 31 last year, Prohibition London was understood to have made a pre-tax loss of£134,710 on sales of just over£9 million.
