Incoming Marks & Spencer general merchandise boss John Dixon has made a raft of changes to his team. The overhaul comes as Dixon prepares to formally take up his new M&S role next month.

Earlier today it emerged that House of Fraser’s executive director of womenswear, lingerie and accessories Stephanie Chen would join Marks & Spencer. The retailer has confirmed she will become its director of kidswear and home.

Scott Fyfe, at present M&S’s trading director of womenswear merchandising and planning, will become director of menswear.

Karl Doyle, trading director of kidswear, will leave M&S in March 2013 and Damian Guha, trading director of home, will move to a new M&S role that month.

Dixon said: “We are delighted to be attracting retailers like Stephanie to the general merchandise team. Her skills and experience, combined with our considerable internal talent, will help to drive our clothing and home business forward.”

The changes of responsibility came amid wide-ranging changes being made to M&S’s general merchandise operations. At the start of this week former Jaeger boss Belinda Earl joined M&S as style director, ahead of the departure of general merchandise supremo Kate Bostock next month.
