TK Maxx was the most-visited value retail website over the past two years, Retail Week can reveal.
According to data from Similarweb, TK Maxx beat the likes of The Range, B&M and Poundland by amassing a total of 134.5 million visits in the year from April 2023 to March 2024.
The off-price retailer, which sells a range of fashion, beauty and homewares, saw even more traffic from April 2022 to March 2023, when it clocked up 138.6 million visits.
TK Maxx also saw 18.2 million more yearly visits in 2023/24 than the retailer in second place – garden, home and furniture retailer The Range.
Retail Week data and insights director Lisa Byfield-Green said: “TK Maxx does a great job of creating a treasure hunt feel in its stores and more recently there has been a focus on trying to replicate this experience online.
“A wider assortment of items is being listed online and the retailer is generating excitement around new product drops on its homepage.
“It also has a newsfeed of items that have just arrived and tags its most fashionable items with the ModBox logo to aid discoverability.”
Other value retailers that feature in the ranking include B&M, Wilko, Costco, The Works, Poundland, Home Bargains, Poundstretcher and The Original Factory Shop.
In its latest financial update, TK Maxx owner TJX recorded profit of £147.6m and a 17.5% increase in annual turnover to £3.88bn in the year to January 28, 2023.
While the results showed that like-for-like store sales grew 17.4%, there was no mention of how its ecommerce arm has been performing as the group continues to grow its bricks-and-mortar estate and focus on store layout.
