Poundland is expanding its grocery offering to an additional 24 stores across the UK.
The value retailer will accelerate its grocery rollout, which includes chilled food, frozen food, fresh fruit and veg, as well as beers, wines and spirits.
Frozen and chilled food will go into 24 more stores to bring the total number of stores offering the ranges to 570. Poundland aims to add beers, wines and spirits to over 40 stores by the autumn.
The rollout is the latest development of Poundland’s “range revolution”, which has taken place over the last three years and has seen new categories such as clothing, homewares and groceries added to offer customers an alternative to supermarkets.
Poundland will also add fresh fruit and vegetables to 50 more stores in July, adding to the 400 stores where they are already available.
Poundland retail director Darren Kay said: “We’re quietly widening what we offer customers, day by day and store by store, because we know customers appreciate the convenience of shopping with Poundland for much more of what they need week-in, week-out.
“Whether it’s a Poundland on a high street, in a shopping centre or on a retail park, we’re investing in our stores, our ranges and our stores to make them real destinations for our customers –all with the amazing value we promise.”
