Value retailer The Original Factory Shop is close to being bought by the owner of In The Style with a deal expected in the coming days.
Family office Baaj Capital, which has several investments, has come out as a frontrunner to purchase The Original Factory Shop.
The discount chain has been owned by private equity firm Duke Street since 2007, but Sky News has reported that retail insiders have said a deal could be struck in the next few days.
It has also been reported that other potential investors include Frasers Group, owned by Mike Ashley, as well as Poundstretcher, which was bought by Fortress last year.
The Original Factory Shop now trades from over 180 stores across the UK, and sells big name brands such as Lego, Adidas and Clinique.
The terms of Baaj Capital’s potential purchase has not yet been made clear.
Duke Street declined to comment to Sky News, while Baaj Capital has been approached for comment.
