Value variety retailer The Range has improved its click-and-collect service so that customers can pick up their orders in 60 minutes.
The updated free-of-charge service is now available at The Range nationwide. Once orders are ready, they can be held in store for up to five days for customers to collect.
The news follows the relaunch of Wilko’s click-and-collect service across more than 200 collection points, with orders available for pick up in two hours.
Both Wilko and The Range are owned by CDS Superstores. Chief executive Alex Simpkin said that Wilko, which it acquired last September, is seeing “great feedback” from customers as it continues to roll out more stores across the UK.
On The Range’s updated service, Simpkin said: “By offering this one-hour collection service, we aim to make shopping even more convenient and accessible for both our existing and new customers, especially as they prepare for a summer of hosting.
“We’re excited to provide them with a seamless shopping experience that bridges the gap between online convenience and in-store availability.”
Both value retail outlets opened new stores over the Easter period, with Wilko striving to open around 300 stores overall.
