Dundrum shopping centre in Dublin has been flooded after more than a month’s worth of rain fell in just a few hours yesterday (Monday).
The shopping centre was evacuated due to severe flooding on the ground floor, as it was overcome with 10cm of water.
Dublin Fire Brigade and the Coast Guard have been overwhelmed by the number of calls they have received from members of the public, according to the Irish Times.
Dublin city council activated its emergency plan after torrential rain led to three rivers bursting their banks. Houses and roads became submerged.
Retailers including Topshop, Warehouse and Banana Republic have stores at Dundrum.
