London Waterloo has opened an extra 20,000 sq ft of retail space, including Joules’ first train station store, today in time for the Olympics.
Retailers taking space in the revamped station include Fat Face, Hotel Chocolat, Oliver Bonas and Links of London.
When all the units open, the retail capacity of the station will total 55,000 sq ft across 38 stores.
The Waterloo opening follows the launch of the new Western Concourse at London’s King’s Cross, which opened in March, both completed by Network Rail.
Network Rail director of property David Biggs said: “As with King’s Cross, the Waterloo balcony project forms part of our wider retail strategy to create ‘destination’ stations for both rail passengers and non-travelling customers.”
