Waitrose has appointed David Jones as its supply chain director.
Jones, currently divisional registrar for John Lewis, will take up his position on August 31.
He replaces Mark Williamson who became commercial director when Richard Hodgson resigned earlier this year to take up the post of group commercial director at Morrisons.
Jones has been with the John Lewis Partnership since 1982 and held several branch manager roles in Waitrose before moving to buying in 1994. He became head of buying services in 2002. He moved to Waitrose in 2007 as director of buying before his current role of divisional registrar for John Lewis in 2009.
Mark Price, managing director of Waitrose, said: “David’s deep understanding of our business and wide experience at senior level makes him ideally suited to this role. I am delighted that, once again, we have been able to draw on our own talent pool to fill this important position.”
